Yesterday I went to my first annual check up (I missed it last year because I came back too late from France, for those who wonder...)
It's required by most companies (if I'm not mistaken) and is paid by your employer as well.
It consisted of (in the order which I took them) a chest X-Ray (take a deep breath, hold it and....), an urine test (25 cl !), a blood test (痛い!), an auditive test (*biiip*....*biiiip*...), an ocular test (didn't understand what to do at first, I had to take the test twice...) and the usual blood pressure measurement.
There were many nurses working like an assembly line, to optimize the time checking since, it seems, it is required for everyone at the same period of the year.
So, most companies send their employees at dedicated health centers where you would also meet other people from other companies and it goes on like that for few days.
I said "dedicated health centers" because, oddly enough, it wasn't a hospital or a clinic where I went, but rather an IT building with a whole floor dedicated for this stuff.
Regarding the tests themselves, I've never had a chest x-ray or an urine test (at least, not from what I remember).
I really wonder what kind of results will come back in two weeks....like something I wasn't aware of for all these years and from which Dr House[1] will easily deduce "Ok we can see you're a geek, you spend too much time in front of your games and your computer. Get a life !"
[1] If you don't know Dr.House, shame on you !

Can't sleep, can't wake up
The title says it all.
I can't seem to go to bed early. That's one big problem.
I can't wake up early either. That's another big problem.
In-between, I sleep quite a lot and really well though.
Even if I'm really tired (I am now and still can't sleep at least not right away) it will take at least 20 mins to fall asleep.
When I wake up early due to horrible circumstances (aka something woke me up and I'm not in a good mood), I still can't go to bed early on that night.
I've built up this habit over the years and it probably won't be fixed anytime soon.
The only time when I am sleeping/waking up like a normal person is after a travel, when I suffer from jetlag and thus, wake up at 6am and go to bed at 9pm.
Unfortunately, it doesn't last long since I'm recovering slowly, day after day, up to the point when I'm back on my own cycle.
This morning, woke up at 9.30. It was a living hell getting out of bed.
Right now, 3am, still up though I'm pretty tired so I'm going to bed soon.
Tomorrow, nothing special to do in the morning, will probably sleep until 12pm.
